English 8...Here I
am sitting on my couch trying to anticipate all the good things this
year will bring. This year is my twentieth high school grad reunion.
Yes, 20, my my how time goes. I'm still that same energetic teenage
girl inside, but it's amazing to think of everything that has happened
since then.
I'm
so excited to experience this last year of high school
with you, and reminisce the wonderful times I had when I was at your
stage. I remember making specific goals for myself when I was 17,
applying to universities, hoping that I would maintain my grade point
average, looking for the perfect grad dress, aspiring to win soccer
provincials. Then of course I would eventually go on to graduate
with honors, travel the world, and then become the successful mother, wife, and
professional I dreamed of being.
Ha!
Yes, I actually managed to do many of those things. They never came in
exactly that order, but I I dreamed big and I was determined. Some of
them just seemed to happen, while others came by what seemed to be
crawling across snake infested deserts, but the truth is, the getting
there has always been the funnest part. I still have many goals for
myself, but of course they now include other people as I am no longer
just me.
You
have the power in you to do everything and anything you envision. I
invite you to dream big, believe in what you do and who you want to be.
I hope the time we share together enriches your journey and that you
not only learn something, but enjoy the ride. Long
live Grad 2014!
Good luck!
